The “EMSc-INS Professional Talk” is a talk series organized by the Executive Master of Science Programme of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, aiming to connect industry practitioners with the students as well as our renowned scholars.
We are very honoured to have Mr. Ringo Ho, Former Technical Director, Cunningham Lindsey China Co., Ltd., to share his experience. The topic of the talk is about Sharing of 2 Experiences in making “Mission Almost Impossible” to “Possible” in non-life insurance in China. Details are as follows:

About the speaker:
Having joined insurance industry since 1981 after his graduation from Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1981 with a Professional Diploma in Insurance, Ringo retired in early 2019 with over 30 years of experience in underwriting and claim management for infrastructure, power and energy risks across Asian; and projects for One Belt One Road in various continents.
Ringo has rich experience in high-risk segments like metro and tunnel construction; wafer fabrication; power generation such as nuclear, combined cycle, hydro., etc. One of Ringo’s highlights in his professional career was his business initiative put up for a major Asian reinsurer to write operational risks of underground coal mines in China which brought good profit during his stay with them.
Before his retirement, Ringo extended his working experience to client management for China’s non-life insurance market for a major Asian reinsurer, and as Technical Director for China with a major global loss adjuster.
Other than working in Hong Kong, Ringo had also been posted in Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei by companies like Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty; Allianz Re; Asia Capital Re; Cunningham Lindsey Loss Adjusting; Royal & Sun Alliance; and Swiss Re.
Ringo is a Chartered Insurer and ACII.
