The “EMSc-INS Professional Talk” is a talk series organized by the Executive Master of Science Programme of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, aiming to connect industry practitioners with the students as well as our renowned scholars.
We are very honoured to have Mr. Paul Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs and Planning of Sinoasia Alliance Group Limited, to share his experience. The topic of the talk is about Global Risk and Insurance Management. Details are as follows:

About the speaker:
Mr. Lam possesses 50 years of experience in the risk management and insurance industry. Over that period, there are very few aspects of insurance with which he has not been involved. His specialties include risk management consulting, global insurance arrangement, self-insurance and alternative risk transfer, the use of captive insurance company, reinsurance. Mr. Lam began his career as a life insurance agent in Hong Kong and rapidly moved on to non-life insurance and became the insurance officer for The Hongkong Electric Company. He had held various management managerial positions in Jardine, Matheson & Company in Hong Kong. He first ran his own brokage form after he moved to Canada and have taken on senior management positions in Pacific World Holdings. After his retirement in the Pacific World, he joined Sinoasia Alliance Group Limited in Hong Kong and became its Chief Executive Officer in 2018 with responsibility in strategic planning and corporate development for the group. On 1 August 2021, he retired from the position of CEO of Sinoasia and was appointed a director on corporate affairs and planning.
